Evaluation #8

Most of our feedback came out mostly positive with few negative comments made. The negative comments that were spotted  will be picked up on for future films. This will improve our look on film making for the editing and shooting perspective. The positives will be kept in mind for more considered films to be made and will be created in more detail for more audience satisfaction.

This analytical youtube video is reasonably new, hense the lack of views shown. It shows that my views are from mostly the Uk and also Argentina. This give me information to where film noir is viewed from giving locations across the globe. My home country is obviously popular – giving that it is the location where I uploaded the video. I used the YouTube platform because it is internationally viewed for everyone to see, without discriminating anyone. I uploaded ‘The Robbery’ video at the end of February, so the published video hasn’t quite met its full audience with the minimal time it’s had. The extra traffic sources information shows the watch time to my video and how they got to my video through different areas on YouTube.

Evaluation #7

When we first started the course we started with very few sources of technology from the preliminary task to now. We used Imovie at the beginning with a school camera and now we use a Canon G7X with a professional editing software – ‘Final Cut Pro 10.0″. Our cinematography has improved remarkably well due to more planning and more thoughtful thinking for our set plot.  We did this by using a shot list, using it in detail to know what to shoot on the one day of filming. This sped up the time for filming our shots to then edit and to start post production after the first edit.

The improvements to our final product are as follows: To have more suitable props, such as the white gun. This is due to not having the right prop before shooting. To conquer this for next time our planning with need to be thought out more on our mise en scene as well as cinematography. We could have had more scenes that were a nicer space for more titles due to this being a compulsory task to our film.

Technology is a huge part to my media film within the process of making the product as a whole.

The editing is really important because it brings all of my shots together to create the story for an audience. I have used the software ‘Final Cut Pro 10.0’. This has been amazing compared to other softwares such as Windows Movie Maker and Imovie to create the film I wanted. The titles I used in Final Cut Pro made more of an impact to film noir with the bigger range of options I got to choose from. This has made me develop my skills with editing from my use of titles in a starting sequence, making me think lots more on the representation it brings to the screen. FCPX-icon.png

My own camera gave the biggest participation to my film production due to it filming my shots throughout the film making. I used a ‘Canon G7X’ and a GoPro Hero 3 with other accessories such as a long tripod for stationary shots. This camera is great because it shooted sharp images for my film, showing detail that you won’t get on a phone. This camera was also useful during the distribution process because the film didn’t take up much Gigabytes for the film to publish. I learnt more about my cameras work by keeping my arm action more naturalistic whilst filming first person and also playing around with lighting against the contrast of the lens.

IMG_1946.jpggopro_PNG9997.pngThrough the use of exhibiting my film, I used the platform ‘YouTube’. So then anyone can watch my film for free with no hasil to find with it being easy to use. I used YouTube to upload my final edit to WordPress so then my work can be up with my planning and also evaluation. I have learnt on how to upload a video without problems occurring and I also learnt how to construct a thumbnail.YouTube-logo-full_color.pngI used a MacBook Pro to edit my footage on and to distribute. This hardware gave me the tools and software to complete my film the way it has turned out to be. With this powerful laptop I was able to use the specs to make my film with a high resolution and no problems were to take place.

To find the suitable music for my film I used the platform ‘Soundcloud’. This showed me a completely new perspective of music that I haven’t come across before. This made me learn more about this artist ‘Jesse James’ and the way he stands out contrasting to mainstream artists.

I use these platforms of technology because they suit my style of producing films. This is mainly through the editing software ‘Final Cut Pro’ because it is the biggest part to the whole process to me, for putting all of my ideas to a screen. I use these tools to create a good quality film for an audience to enjoy. This is through different editing techniques, well shot cinematography and well chosen music to fit the genre (‘Film noir’).

Overall these annotations cover my thoughts on what I think my target audience will be attracted to throughout main parts to my film. I’ve chosen these screenshots because they give key moments that will leave an audience member thinking after the film is finished. These annotations are aimed at my perfect audience member with the film noir genre.

Evaluation – #4

This picture is a typical audience member to match my film.

He is a civilised ordinary viewer at the age of 40 – 50. He fits into the tribe of ‘The get paid crew’ with the initiative to set up their own business, to have a good job and to earn lots of money.  His background is a family life in a city such as London. This is a stereotype of a middle aged man with a stubble beard grey/dark beard. The individual is scruffy and he drinks alcohol from time to time but only out of a decanter.

His interest in music includes classical and jazz music. This helps him relax in situations where he finds life difficult with work issues or other common difficulties. He doesn’t tend to watch T.V. because he prefers films and he’s also always busy with work. His upbringing leads him to this character with the upper class vibe that you get from this picture. He has very good all round manners and loves to do things the old fashioned way. He watches film noir classic films and enjoys action/thriller. He will watch my film because all of these attributes come together for him to enjoy.

Evaluation #2

This commentary outlines the 4 key areas to my film analyse. I did this to outline parts to the film that many viewers miss out, for example the tweak of the camera for the first sighting of the house. I talk about the two main characters being the detective (Hero) and also the robber (Villain), this is through the use of mainly mise en scene – describing their appearance. I mention the main parts to my film making there purpose obvious to my target audience.
